Wednesday Nov 18, 2020
Wednesday Nov 18, 2020
Eirik Sørvik is a standup comedian.
We talk about being raised in rural areas and growing up to take advantage of the opportunities that city life provides. Eirik and I also talk about the growth we have gained and what we experience individually when we do things that force us outside of our comfort zone.
The Norwegian news media often talks about non-Norwegians, and black men specifically, but I have begun to wonder why there are no black men that I have seen in nationally broadcast Norwegian media who speak for themselves on certain issues. I bring this up during our conversation, and Eirik and I discuss the possibility that I may be one of the first black men in Norway, or maybe even THE first black man in Norway, to speak on a Norwegian national news platform about issues that are not exclusively "black issues".

Antwon Taylor is a film producer, screenwriter and author.
Listen to my conversation with Antwon, and you will be inspired by his life story. Antwon struggled for a bit in the beginning of this episode, but when he relaxed and felt more comfortable, he revealed some parts of his background and personal history that left me amazed at the force of his willpower, focus and self-worth. In spite of incredible adversity, Antwon stayed on his path towards self betterment, publishing his first book and achieving his first film production.
